Google’s Gemini 4 Argon API Prices Will Double in December
AI Wallet
Google has confirmed that the introductory API prices for Gemini 4 Argon will end on November 30, 2026. From December 1, input prices will increase from $2 to $4 per million tokens, while output prices will rise from $10 to $20. Cached input will also increase from $0.10 to $0.20. This means all three published token rates will double. However, this is the scheduled end of a promotional offer, not an unexpected price increase.
Input and output prices and dates are from Google’s Gemini API pricing page. Google states cached input is priced at 95% off the input price, giving $0.10 now and $0.20 from 1 December.
Each token type uses its own scale so the smaller cached-input values stay readable.
For businesses using Gemini 4 Argon, the important question is how this change will affect their future AI spending. A company paying $100 today for the same amount of input and output tokens could pay $200 after December 1, assuming usage and caching remain unchanged. Actual bills will depend on how much AI is used and whether requests qualify for caching discounts. This shows why companies should consider both today’s API price and future announced prices when choosing an AI model.
